MER Clinic: Alan Wood Steel

The original Alan Wood Steel began in Delaware in 1792, but the company migrated to Conshohocken, PA where new steel making facilities and rolling mills were built around 1903. Some of those buildings are still being used. The blast furnaces purchased in the 1920s located across the Schuylkill River in West Conshohocken date back to the 1850s.
